On Saturday the 6th of June, we welcomed to St Kyneburgha’s a group of American tourists led by Dr. William Cook, visiting churches, cathedrals and other notable English ecclesiastical buildings. Far Horizons is a company which arranges archaeological and historical tours for discerning travellers and they had previously visited Castor some years ago. We were delighted that William Burke was able to renew his previous association with the tour company and he led a group of 13 visitors around the fascinating history of our church. The icing on the cake was when they presented a cash donation of £1265 to the Trust. It is the practice of the Far Horizons Company to choose a suitable charity which works to preserve ancient buildings like ours. To say that we were amazed and delighted would be an understatement. Cake was dispensed too along with a good old English cuppa, before the group returned to the city to view the cathedral.
