We run a number of events every year that our ‘Friends’ are given exclusive or priority booking opportunities.
Please help us to preserve this magnificent Grade 1 listed building described by many as among the finest Norman churches in England. The Trust depends on the generosity of people like you, who are interested in this ancient building, its site and the history it has witnessed. We research and apply for grants, apply for loans, raise funds through events and we are now hoping to attract regular givers. As little as £5 a month provides a regular income for the Trust.
We hope that you will wish to become a Friend of St Kyneburgha’s. We plan first class programmes for our regular donors. This will include an exclusive event each year, priority access to ticketed events and regular news about what is happening in the Trust as well some surprises from time to time!
Dry rot in South Aisle floor uncovered
We ask that you donate a minimum of £5 (£60 per year) for a single person or £10 per month (£120 per year) for a couple. That is worth £75 or £150 per year to the Trust if you are regular tax payers.
The St Kyneburgha Building Preservation Trust has a list of projects it is planning to undertake over the coming years. At the same time we have to be prepared to step in to fund emergency work which often arises without much notice. In 2010 we funded the dry rot project discovered in the church. The final cost was about £10,000 – money the Parochial Church Council did not have. We have previously secured £32,000 of funding in order to replace the Lady Chapel Roof. Projects such as these involving the fabric of the church more often than not require archaeological and architectural exploration and advice. This can significantly increase the cost or repairs and improvements.
